Carboxytherapy
Carboxytherapy is a non-surgical aesthetic treatment that promotes oxygenation of body cells through the infiltration of CO2 (carbon dioxide). This gas, which our body expels naturally through breathing, helps the body to secrete serotonin, histamines and catecholamine, neurotransmitters that will improve blood circulation by causing the subcutaneous tissues to relax and vascular dilation to occur.
Carbon dioxide is infiltrated subcutaneously, percutaneously or intradermally through a very fine needle. This is connected to a device that allows controlling the flow and volume of gas and maintaining a constant pressure during the necessary time. After its application, the area is lightly massaged in order to facilitate the distribution of the carbon dioxide.
As soon as it is injected, part of it adheres to the fat and the rest goes into the bloodstream, coming into contact with hemoglobin and causing the generation of oxygen and, as a consequence, increasing the blood supply to the treated area.
